Forseven, a revolutionary company looking to transform the EV industry through cutting-edge technology and innovative engineering practices, is seeking an
HMI Research Lead to join our highly skilled and dynamic Engineering team.

The Opportunity....

The
HMI Research Lead will be responsible for developing robust research protocols to evaluate existing HMI solutions with a focus on cognitive Human Factors principles.

This research will allow us to set targets on which our own technology can be assessed. Their work will also report into evidence-based guideline and requirement generation that is led by the human factors lead.

As we develop prototype technology and bring new research facilities on-board (e.g., driving simulator / VR tools) the research lead will work across adapt/develop research protocols to evaluate and refine the HMI solution in the 'virtual world' working closely with digital design teams.

Finally, when prototype vehicles / mule vehicles are available, research will continue to the physical world to validate our HMI solutions.

What you'll do....

Develop robust research protocols to quantify user experience with HMI
Conduct user trials in competitor vehicles to assess the performance of invehicle HMI with a focus on cognitive human factors
Provide the data to support the creation of key system usability targets based on primary research and competitor benchmarking
Develop new and innovative research protocols to maximise research capability across different stages of technology protyping
Collaborate with Ergonomics and UX research activities such as BUCK testing, onroad, and simulatorbased user testing.
Conduct driving simulator based research to validate new driverfocused technologies
Identify and explore areas for HMI innovation considering human factors and maintain a critical awareness of market trends and changing user needs.
Work with build engineers to define requirements for prototyping of HMI features in preparation for user testing
Compile reports and communicate research output to key stakeholders to support userfocused development the invehicle HMI

Who you are....

Strong handson research capability with the ability to define research questions, develop and execute a research protocol
Thorough understanding in statistical methods and the ability to use relevant software (e.g., IMB's SPSS)
Strong understanding and evidence of use of relevant validated research methods and tools (e.g., SUS, TLX, DALI, UEQ)
Strong understanding and evidence of use of eyetracking methodologies in HMI research and the ability to process and interperate glance behaviours
Experience or willingness to learn about other psychophysiological measures would be adventagous
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate research outputs to inform on requirement and guideline generation
