The Role


The Strategic Engagement Manager role will engage with potential customers and partners identified in our strategy to create and grow opportunities in developing UK's workforce in the manufacturing sector.


Duties and responsibilities include:
Working with LEPs and Combined authorities to support them in realising their skills objectives
Working with key clients to support their workforce development needs
Working with sector bodies and government departments to contribute to their strategic objectives for UK skills
Gaining insight into sector skills needs through horizon scanning activity
Identifying and creating strategic partnerships with academic and training providers
Responding to tenders via creation of educational solutions, bid writing and presenting of solutions
Responsible for contributing to the strategic direction of the department


The Person
Commercially aware.
Degree calibre and/or professional qualification such as CIPD.
Experience in using labour market data
Up to date knowledge and practical experience with aspects of academic and education policy and funding
Knowledge in business development, sales and key account management

Good numeracy skills:
confident working with budgets, commercial models, business plans and data
Excellent presentation skills
