Head of Innovation & Delivery Role Profile

Plymouth is sandwiched between the incredible South West _coastline_ and the wild beauty of _Dartmoor National Park._ As Britain's Ocean City, Plymouth is a vibrant place to live and work, with access to the moors and shores along with a bustling city centre.

We are home to the UK's first National Marine Park, 'The Box' - an outstanding new regional £47m museum and have recently secured Freeport status for our thriving maritime industries.

We are ambitious for our city, and in driving growth and innovation.

Strategic Commissioning is key to supporting and leading change, and Plymouth City Council's Adults, Health and Communities Directorate is looking for a Head of Innovation and Delivery to support our improvement journey for Adult Social Care.

Positioned in our Strategic Commissioning department and reporting to the Service Director for Integrated Commissioning, you will lead the delivery of transformation and change programmes across the Directorate.

An experienced manager, you will have experience of driving improvement, a strong understanding of commissioning, change programmes and project management as well as knowledge of the external provider market including the challenges and opportunities for social care and health.

You will work closely with the Head of Strategy and Planning to deliver key commissioning change programmes, including procurement of services, developing and embedding systems and driving market transformation.

You would lead three teams supporting the department's priorities, with a key focus of this post in ensuring that the department is well prepared for its first new inspection of Adult Social Care under the CQC Assurance framework.

You will be experienced in building and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders and partners including other local authorities, health partners and elected members, as well as our commissioned providers across the city.

This is a new post created following a restructure so there is the opportunity to shape the evolution of the teams and recruit and develop staff.
