Description
We are currently looking for a Database Administrator to join the IT Team on a permanent basis in Darlington. We support hybrid and flexible working for this role, there will be a mix of office and remote working.

The role
The Database Administrator will assist in the management and administration of Railpen's on premise and cloud Database infrastructure.

You will be responsible for day-to-day administration and monitoring of Database environments as well as remediation of legacy SQL databases to remain in a support version considering all available options (Upgrade, Replace, Transform).

You will troubleshoot and resolve database related issues via My Support Incidents & requests, supporting colleagues by advising on database related issues along with along with providing proposals for the continuous improvements to Database services.


The person


We are looking for someone with demonstrable background in database technical skills who has worked with both premise Microsoft SQL Server and all Azure SQL Database services, covering all areas of Database Administration.

Experience of using Flyway would be advantageous but not essential.


You will have an analytical mind, operating at all times in a way that is agile, focused and purpose led.

To succeed in this role you will build credible relationships based on trust, commitment and delivery, using data to support decision making.

We're looking for someone who has the ability to present both issues and solutions clearly and comprehensively to technical and non-technical audiences.

You will have a passion for working with others and drive positive collaboration within and between all functions of Railpen to ensure constructive engagements.
