Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a highly motivated, multidisciplinary team in the Adult Sleep Disorders Centre at Guy's Hospital.

Sleep Disorders Medicine is a rapidly expanding specialist field and we are looking for healthcare scientists or graduates who wish to begin or develop a career in Sleep Medicine.

We are a 10 bedded sleep unit performing sleep investigations for all sleep disorders including complex and specialist presentations.

You will work in both in-patient and out-patient areas and you will be trained in all aspects of sleep diagnostic interpretation and interventions.

The role will involve face to face and virtual clinics managing care pathways for CPAP users and therefore excellent IT and communication skills are essential.

We also have a large domiciliary service providing clinical screening and diagnostics across London and the UK.

Shift patterns are variable and include some weekends and rotation to night duties. Due to limitations in the location and nature of the role we are unable to support some shift patterns.

Transferable skills include; experience with respiratory patients using non-invasive ventilation (CPAP/APAP/Bi-PAP) and/or ventilated patients and interpreting or analysing EEG/ECG or similar diagnostic data.

We offer opportunities for personal and professional development.

Please see the Job Description and Person Specification for detailed information regarding the responsibilities and requirements for this post.

Guy's and St Thomas' is among the UK's busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts.

We provide a full range of hospital and community services for people in south London and as well as specialist care for patients from further afield including cancer, renal, orthopaedic, respiratory and cardiovascular services.

Guy's is home to the largest dental school in Europe and a £160 million Cancer Centre opened in 2016.

As part of our commitment to provide care closer to home, in 2017 we also opened a cancer centre and a kidney treatment centre at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup.

St Thomas' has one of the largest critical care units in the UK and one of the busiest emergency departments in London.

It is also home to Evelina London Children's Hospital.

Evelina London cares for local children in Lambeth and Southwark and provides specialist services across south east England including cardiac, renal and critical care services.

We lead a number of specialist service networks aiming to ensure children are treated locally where possible, but have access to specialist expertise when they need it.

Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions.
