Do you aspire to deliver the Best Possible Maternity Care every time? That is the approach to Maternity Services at Northampton General Hospital.


We are seeking an innovative, flexible clinically credible and inclusive Midwife with a broad range of midwifery experience to lead a Midwifery Continuity of Carer team MCoC on secondment as a Band 7 midwife for a period of 12 months.


You will need to be a self -motivated, dynamic, enthusiastic and visionary Midwife with excellent interpersonal skills and possess distinct passion for maternity service and a drive for ongoing learning and development.

You will need to have excellent clinical skills to support the team to deliver high quality care and open to embracing positive change and transformation in order to meet the needs of the women in the local population.


As a recommendation from the Ockenden report March 2021 NGH are continuing the provision of MCoC while we continue to work on the MCoC Long-Term plan building in support of further roll out MCoC teams in line with safe staffing.


As a Midwifery Continuity of Carer team leader you will be working as part of a team of 6 -8 midwives, caring for a diverse population including vulnerable women, women of black and ethnic minorities and those from areas of high deprivation.
