Description

The post-holder participates in the provision of a high quality Diagnostic Ultrasound Service to the Trust, supporting the Ultrasound Managers in the day-to-day organization of the department and accepting responsibility for designated areas of work.

Initial placements will be site based.

However, across-sites working will be required as per service needs based at:

  • Queens Hospital
King Georges Hospital

CDC - Community Diagnostic Centres


Important Notice:


  • A Recruitment and Retention Premium (RRP) of £5000 per annum (pro rata if part time) will be paid. You will receive this payment in your salary each month. This will be reviewed annually.


We are looking for suitably qualified staff to perform the duties of a Sonographer at the BHRUT ultrasound department and to maintain smooth good patient flow throughout the department.

We are a very large Radiology Department having three CT scanners and three MRI scanners as well as a dedicated Interventional Theatre Suite.

We have a very large ultrasound department across both main hospitals and peripheral sites.

The Queen's Hospital is situated close to the A12, within walking distance of Romford British Rail Station and local amenities.

King George Hospital is situated in Barley Lane, Goodmayes with good transport links.
