We currently have a Permanent vacancy for a band 4 supervisor for our ophthalmology failsafe teamYou will be responsible for ensuring the provision of an efficient, focused Ophthalmology outpatient service.
Supporting the achievement of the service and to organise and plan the work of failsafe officers that underpin the Ophthalmology pathways.
You will also need:

- Ability and resilience to manage a demanding failsafe service
- To have an ability to work effectively and lead a team
- To have prioritising and organisational skills
- Be flexible to the needs of the service
- To be able to recognise and meet deadlines
- Have the ability to learn new skills and processes quickly
- Be able to work with discretion, sensitivity and maintain confidentiality
- The successful post holder will be used to working within a customer service environment be proactive and able to take initiative to solve problems.
- Be flexible and able to work across site at our charing cross clinic location as required.
- To assist the business support Manager in the operational running of the Failsafe service and deputies for the Manager in their absence
- To supervise and lead the failsafe team, supporting with training and development needs and any HR issues.
- Ensure all patients requiring referral are referred that day and ensure all referred patients are tracked (as per national guidance and Policy) confirming the referral has been acknowledged and received, first appointment date, attendance and treatment information, and notification of discharge/followup provided
- Produce Reports where needed, and provide regular updates on KI's for the department.
- Be proactive in the resolution and investigation of feedback and complaints
- Maintain an overview of entire patient pathway and ensure safe systems. Review and audit these systems and undertake failsafe activities to ensure patients are in correct status
- Work with the business support manager on improvement projects and any changes required to documented Failsafe Procedures
- Ensure data quality checks and performance validations are undertaken
- Regularly review national guidelines and best practice relating to failsafe and take this into account when fulfilling the role
