Salary - Grade- GBP £37,575 to £38, SO1- Contract Type- Permanent- Contracted Hours- Full Time - 36 hours per week- DBS Required- Yes- Department- Children & Education- Service- Children & Families Service- Closing date- 03/03/2024This new role of Leaving Care Welfare and Benefits Advisor has been created to provide specialist welfare benefits support and advice to young people and social workers within the Children & Families Service.

The role will involve regular communication with young people, health and social care professionals, foster carers and private/voluntary sector providers and will include recording, monitoring and reporting accurate information.

You will have a flexible and "can-do" approach to work with the ability to adapt to ever changing demands.

You will be highly organised and efficient with the ability to produce work of a high standard within set timescales.


As well as being able to work efficiently as part of a team, you should be proactive and able to use your own initiative.

You will have excellent IT skills and good communication skills with the confidence to challenge others appropriately.

An enhanced DBS check is required.
