Leeson House Field Studies Centre, part of the Outdoor Education Service under Dorset Council Children's Services, is seeking a dedicated Catering and Facilities Assistant to join our dynamic team.


About Leeson House:

Situated near Swanage, Leeson House offers residential accommodations and delivers environmental education programs to students ranging from Primary to 'A' level.

With the capacity to accommodate up to 80 students and 12 accompanying staff, we welcome both residential and day visit bookings 7 days a week throughout the year.

Position: Catering and Facilities Assistant

Hours: 18 hours per week during term-time, with an additional 4 weeks as required

Responsibilities: This role involves working within both the catering and housekeeping teams. You will assist in meal service and kitchen tasks to ensure a delightful dining experience for our guests. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in bedrooms, bathrooms, and communal areas, ensuring our visitors enjoy tidy and comfortable surroundings

This is a term time only role at 18 hours per week.

We base the pro-rata salary on:

  • the number of hours
- the number of weeks worked
- paid annual leave entitlement for an employee under 5 years' service


In the first year of service this salary may need to be adjusted to ensure you are paid accurately to reflect your holiday entitlement.

A similar adjustment may be made at the point your employment ends to ensure that you are paid accurately for the number of days worked in any academic year.
