Main Responsibilities:


  • Take the University's stories, at brand and sub brand level, into schools and colleges, coordinating with academics, external partners and colleagues to provide the strongest possible programme of activities.
  • Account manage a number of partnerships with key schools and college partners, representing the University and providing intelligence about activities and trends within each institution.
  • Produce and deliver a year round programme of talks and activities for school aged audiences on campus, for recruitment and widening participation purposes.
  • Promote the BCU brand narrative consistently within each relationship, ensuring its consistent deployment across presentations, hard copy and digital materials.
  • Provide ongoing intelligence about school and college recruitment activities across other HEIs, especially regional competitors.
  • Proactively provide expert professional advice, challenge, coaching and support to partners and colleagues across the University academics, faculty marketing teams and junior Recruitment team staff.
  • Provide ongoing intelligence about school and college recruitment activities across other HEIs, especially regional competitors.
  • Provide insights into what each partner needs and wants from BCU, to support the development of a differentiated school and college offer.
  • Regularly report and evaluate engagement activities and outcomes, feeding findings back into University marketing and communications activities.
  • Support the maintainence of the fullest possible database of school and college contacts.
  • Ensure risk assessments are conducted prior to all activities and be mindful of health and safety in all planning.
  • Train and supervise Student Ambassadors when required.
  • Act 'in loco parentis' for accompanied and unaccompanied minors taking part in events.
  • Support the development of and adherence to the University's OfS agreement, and engage with NCOP, Aimhigher and other external partners as required, as part of delivering the strategic objectives of BCU's widening participation strategy.
  • To deputise/cover for the Student Engagement and Recruitment Manager as necessary at the discretion of the Head of Student Recruitment.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the post as required by the Head of Student Recruitment.

Key Requirements:

Managing people and resources

  • Supervise and train as necessary an Engagement and Recruitment Assistant.
  • Manage budgets for events and activities.
  • Train Ambassadors as required.
Communication

  • Strong public speaking skills and the ability to motivate and inspire audiences.
  • Communicate complex information to a wide variety of audiences in order to influence, achieve change where necessary and achieve results.
  • Actively engage diverse stakeholder groups to support project activities.
Teamwork and collaborative working

  • Ensure that teams and colleagues across the wider University work effectively together.
  • Maintain a network of internal and external contacts.
Initiative, problem solving and decision making

  • Provide advice on issues affecting student recruitment across the University.
  • Identify and drive forward opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of student recruitment.
  • Resolve operational problems affecting the delivery of activities.
  • Influence University decisions through providing expertise on a wide range of student recruitment matters and leading or participating in relevant working groups, committees and consultations.

  • Ensure that appropriate risk management processes are operational within own areas of responsibility.
