Description

An experienced Infrastructure Engineer with 3-5 years of experience is needed to join the team at a leading company that provides global economic data.


Since 1994, they have been helping the global financial community to make informed decisions with high-quality securities reference data, corporate actions, end-of-day pricing and economic data services.


This role will be in a senior position within the Infrastructure Team and will require handling escalated tickets, spearheading large projects, and mentoring junior engineers.

This relates to all technology, including firewalls, servers, networks, vendor-specifichardware, workstations, printers, and software.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Support of disaster recovery solutions
  • Expert technical support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security
  • Expert remote access solution implementation and support: VPN, Terminal Services
  • Utilise remote monitoring and management system alerts/notifications, and respond accordingly via service tickets
  • System documentation and maintenance
  • Communication is required: effectively communicating incident progress, notification of impending changes or agreed outages
  • This job role will be performed in compliance with the company's security objectives as defined in the company's policies and procedures

Required Experience:


  • 4 Year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 3 to 5 Years

Desirable Experience:


  • 5 to 10 Years of experience

Required Skills:


  • Microsoft Server 2016/201
  • Linux Ubuntu/Centos/Debian
  • Microsoft SQL, MYSQL/MariaDB
  • Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace


  • Cloud Services

  • Microsoft Azure/AWS


  • Virtualisation Services

  • Vmware or Microsoft Hyper V
  • IT Networking Skills (Cisco, ASA, Firepower)
  • File and Folder Security management
  • ISCSI SAN's
  • Interpersonal skills such as: telephone skills, exceptional written and oral communication skills, active listening, and customercare
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changes quickly
  • Service awareness of all organisation's key IT services for which support is being provided

Desirable Skills:


  • Working knowledge of IPbased telephone systems
  • Working knowledge of Cloud Technologies

Other Job Requirements:


  • Must be available to deal with issues 24/
  • Requires weekend hours as needed
  • Flexibility with notice to slide start and end times up to and hour mornings and afternoons
