We're delighted to be partnering exclusively with Content Design London in their search for a Principal Content Designer.

As a principal content designer, you'll be responsible for shaping and leading complex projects for some of our most high profile clients.


About you

You should have:
- extensive experience in content design or a related field,
- experience of leading content teams to success,
- managed multiple complex projects and activities at the same time,
- a proven track record in content strategy and content design,
- excellent communications skills, with the ability to work, effectively with internal and external stakeholders,
- experience in managing and mentoring teams.


About the job
As a Principal, you'll be responsible for leading and managing a team of permanent content designers.


You'll work closely with well-known brands and organisations to understand their needs and help them achieve their goals by creating accessible and inclusive content.

As a principal you'll influence and lead complex projects for some of our most high profile clients.

You'll also play an important role in shaping the future of Content Design London and influencing the industry.


Responsibilities

As a principal content designer, you'll:

  • lead a team and shape their approach,
- work with the Delivery Lead to make sure teams complete projects on time and to budget,
- work with the Director of Design to define standards and embed best practice,
- support the development of new business,
- guide the direction of research to make sure the approach addresses the problem,
- use evidence and insights to shape thinking about product and service design,
- design products and services so they are accessible and inclusive,
- support all stages of designing content,
- support content designers to solve complex strategy and design challenges,
- support team development, focusing on personal and professional growth as well as technical and interpersonal skills,
- assist the Director of Design to hire new team members,
- improve how teams work together, so they're more efficient and effective,
- make Content Design London even better, contributing to our culture, policies and practices,
- advocate for the role of content design, and influence industry thinking.


Location
You'll work remotely, but you may have to visit UK clients at their offices. You may also get asked to travel internationally for work.


Hours
You'll work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
To help you balance family life and commitments outside of work, we offer a flexible working pattern.


Pay, holiday and benefits
Pay
The salary for this role starts at £62,047 and goes up to £74,287. Your starting salary will depend on your experience.
Pay progression is based on how well you do against the goals we agree together each year.

Expenses
When you travel for work, CDL will cover the cost of travel and accommodation. You'll also have a flexible daily expense allowance.

Holiday
You'll get 28 days' holiday plus Bank holidays based on your location in the UK.


Benefits:

You'll get a starter box including all the CDL books. You'll also get a computer and we'll help you buy a suitable desk and chair.
We offer an annual training budget of £800 per year.

In your first year at CDL, the amount of training budget you get depends on when you start working with us.

At the end of each year, CDL will donate £250 to the charity of your choice.
