Senior Peripatetic Speech & Language Therapist


Location:
Home Based, Frequent travel across our schools and homes in the South of England


Salary:
£50,000 - £60,000 per annum plus £3,000 vehicle allowance and £2000 training allowance


Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm

Contract:
Permanent, Full Time

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Speech & Language Therapist to join our Clinical Team.

In this role you will be responsible for providing assessment, and planning intervention for a caseload of children and young adults in our specialist schools and residential homes across the South of England.

This unique role allows for flexibility, and you will be based at home and travel to the required sites to undertake assessment.

You will hold a caseload of children, young people or adults with autism and associated needs such as ADHD, social communication difficulties, sensory processing needs and trauma within these settings.


You will take a lead in providing specialist speech, language and communication assessment and intervention plans to support and develop the communication and interaction of pupils with complex needs.

You will have the full support of our large and experienced Clinical Team.

Essential Criteria:


  • Recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree
  • Valid and up to date HCPC Registration
  • Registered member of RCSLT
- post qualification experience of working as a Therapist within an educational, adult learning disability or complex-needs setting

  • Experience within the specialist client group. (autism and associated conditions, sensory processing difficulties, learning disabilities/difficulties and associated challenging behaviour)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, complex, technical and clinically sensitive information to the specific client group, their carers and families and a wide range of professionals outside the service
  • Advanced knowledge of models of service delivery
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential, car allowance provided
