About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Business Risk and Control Manager to join a fast-growing team, within an FTSE100-leading investment firm.
Within this role, you will work cross-functionally across the business to provide assurance over the effectiveness of the control environment and to ensure that risks are being appropriately identified and mitigated.
What you'll be doing
- Support the development of a strong riskmanagement culture in the 1st line
- Identify, assess, and quantify business risks and issues, ensuring remedial actions are in place to mitigate risks.
- Facilitating Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) which identify the key risks, and their impact on the business.
- Oversee the management of risk events within the 1st line, ensuring that adequate RCA is performed, and suitable actions are taken to close these.
- Supporting the 1st line in their maintenance of a Management Self-Identified Issues (MSII) log, to capture areas of concern and drive appropriate actions.
- Produce and deliver accurate MI and key risk indicators to key stakeholders to aid risk management.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with relevant stakeholders across the business, as well as second and thirdline departments, (Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit).
- Ensure that all relevant Risk Owners are fully aware of upcoming deadlines for Audit, Compliance Monitoring and Risk Assurance work, to support timely closure of findings.
- Review proposed management responses to assurance work/audit and constructively challenge if proposed actions are not responsive to the findings, and identify contingencies or issues
About you
- Strong knowledge of the financial services industry
- Demonstrable experience working within three lines of defence model.
- Good understanding of current risks facing financial services firms
- Experience in completing RCSAs
- Good relationship and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at a senior level
- Strong analytical skills, able to understand complex concepts and present these to nonrisk professionals.
- Appropriate riskbased qualifications such as a Certificate in Operational Risk Management, Institute of Risk management, CISI Risk Management, or accountancyspecific qualifications: (ACCA, ACCA, CIMA) are all desirable but not essential if qualified byexperience.
Interview process
This will be a two-stage interview process, including technical and competency-based questions and a presentation.
Working Schedule
37.5 hours per week, covering core hours of 09:30-16:00 PM
