Description
LuxDeco is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Junior Furniture Buyer to join our luxury interiors business.

As Junior Furniture Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, selecting, and procuring high-quality furniture pieces that align with our brand's aesthetic and meet the expectations of our discerning clientele.

You will play a crucial role in curating our furniture collection, ensuring a diverse and exclusive range of products that solidify our brand's reputation in the luxury interiors market.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:


Product Development

  • Source and select furniture pieces that align with our luxury brand image, target market, and design aesthetics
  • Conduct thorough product evaluations, including quality assessments and material inspections
  • Coordinate with the design team to ensure product specifications and requirements are met
  • Upload new products and brands on our website, while managing the long tail of products
  • Manage the procurement process, alongside the supply chain department

Supplier Management

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with furniture suppliers, manufacturers, and artisans
  • Negotiate favourable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers while ensuring highquality standards
  • Carry out annual term reviews of your suppliers
  • Regularly evaluate supplier performance and seek opportunities for improvement through audits & best practice sharing

Commercial

  • Stay updated with the latest trends, designs, and innovations in the luxury furniture industry
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging furniture designers, manufacturers, and suppliers
  • Work in coordination with sales and marketing teams to support promotional activities and sales strategies.

Reporting

  • Analyse brand pricing and positioning versus competitors
  • Report on brand performance (commercially and operationally), including quality feedback

Key Interactions

  • Supply Chain: aligning on best practice with each brand, acting as escalation contact for any operational issues
  • Marketing: partnering on initiatives such as promotion campaigns, Lookbooks, etc.
  • E-Commerce: understanding our online experience and buying behaviour of our customers
  • Sales & Design: understanding the requirements for our B2B2C team
  • Customer Service: understanding the voice of the customers, translation into brand portfolio improvements
  • Finance: optimising payment options with brands, and understanding the profitability of each brand

CORE ROLE KPIs / METRICS:


  • Product / brand conversion rate
- % of brands scoring GREEN, driven by commercial performance and operational metrics (on-time delivery, quality)
- % of brands in direct-to-consumer shipment

  • Proven experience as a Furniture Buyer or similar role in the luxury interiors industry

  • You have strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Excellent understanding of quality control processes and materials used in furniture production
  • Ability to travel and visit vendors / trade shows across Europe
