Role description
The mission of the Purchase Ledger / Finance & Controlling Generalist is to be responsible for all aspects of the purchase ledger process in order to ensure accurate and timely reporting whilst working as part of a wider finance team.
Your main challenges
- Purchase Ledger responsibilities_
- Set up of new supplier accounts, including verifying bank details
- Process high volume of purchase invoices, including accurate coding of invoices to nominal, matching to purchase orders, saving invoices as attachments to SAP
- Resolving queries between purchase orders/goods receipts and invoices
- Distributing & following up on invoices for approval
- Preparing BACS/SEPA payments runs, as well as ad hoc payments
- Assist with cash posting, including direct debits
- Reconciliation of supplier statements, requesting copy invoices / additional information
- Month end close process for Accounts Payable, including reconciliation to nominal
- Balance sheet reconciliations for Accounts Payable nominals
- F&C generalist responsibilities_
- Possibility to work in other department responsibilities such as reporting or controlling and share your expertise with the finance department (e.g., inventory controlling, backup for sales ledger)
- Cross functional development & training to develop you forward
- Participate in value creation initiatives and drive process improvement
What we look for
Your education and experience_
- Good Excel skills
- Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs
- SAP knowledge & experience highly preferable
- Education: relevant finance / accounting education
- Work experience: min. 5 years
