The Department of Psychology is seeking a Teaching and General Office Administrator to join our inclusive and friendly professional services team.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive department, proactive in providing training and career development opportunities for all staff.
The department is a teaching and research department in the School of the Biological Sciences, with approximately 200 academic, research, support staff and visitors, plus approximately 100 postgraduate students on either one- or three-year programmes. The department is responsible for teaching approximately 350 undergraduate students on a range of courses, and this is a key role providing the underpinning administrative support for our undergraduate education programmes. In post, you will make an important contribution to the continued development of our teaching office.
You will be based in the main Psychology building and will report to the Teaching Office Manager, as well as working closely with the Course Directors and the Deputy Head for Teaching, liaising on a regular basis with colleagues in the School of Biological Sciences, other teaching departments, and the University's central offices.
In addition, within this interesting and varied post, you will provide an administrative support to other offices within the department to facilitate efficient operations, working closely with colleagues in a range of areas, including HR, Finance and Grants.
The role holder must be able to multitask and work on their own initiative, in addition to working as part of a team.

The role will involve limited evening/weekend/bank holiday (May) work during the examination periods, at other busy times, such as the start of the academic year, and for specific events This position is offered either full time, or part-time four days a week (or five shorter days).
