SWB are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, customer focused individuals to join our temporary staffing Admin and Clerical Bank as an accounts payable clerk


A member of a team of officers within the accounts payable section primarily involved in the processing of large volumes of invoices for payment, and other associated duties, to a designated group of Suppliers using the Trusts computerised accounts payable system.

Due to the nature of Bank work, we are looking to recruit to a pool.

Once we have shortlisted a sufficient number of applicants from this current advert to meet our demand, it will be closed.


  • Match large volumes of supplier invoices with computerised orders / goods received information ensuring that all invoice details are correct
  • Investigate queries, identify errors and make complex calculations to resolve payment discrepancies, liaising as appropriate with staff and managers throughout the trust and Suppliers and other outside organisations
  • Ensure that all invoices are processed promptly and that any queries arising thereon are investigated and dealt with in the appropriate manner. To bring to the attention of the accounts payable team leader difficulties of a recurring nature
  • Ensure the correct treatment of VAT on invoices in accordance with HM Custom and Excise guidance as it relates to the National Health Service
  • Assist with opening, sorting and distributing of the finance departments post as and when required
  • Plan and organise own daily workload to ensure payment deadlines are met. Maintain appropriate records and files as required in accordance with normal office practices
  • To have a general understanding of relevant local and finance department procedures as necessary.
  • To provide cover for other members of the accounts payable section during any absences
  • Reconcile statements received for designated Suppliers with information held on the purchase ledger system
