As the events & awards assistant you will support the team that oversee the events & awards to ensure all costs are tracked and reported correctly along with other administrative responsibilities.

From budget admin to recruitment of temporary staff, equipment preparation and participation onsite at UK events this role is a dynamic role to assist the events & awards team across the global programme of events.


What you'll be doing...

  • Managing budget and invoices for all events and awards, including Global Fine Wine Encounters, Decanter World Wine Awards, Market Guide, Panel Tastings, and any other events and awards.
  • Recruiting and managing temporary staff specifically for Decanter World Wine Awards.
  • Providing logistics, shipping, and equipment support for UK events.
  • Offering onsite support at UK events and awards.
  • Providing ad hoc assistance for other events like Judges Party and Market Guide when required.
  • Offering support for Panel Tasting preparation.


This role encompasses financial and administrative tasks related to various events and awards, along with specific responsibilities for Decanter World Wine Awards and support for UK events and awards.


Experience that will put you ahead of the curve...

  • Wine knowledge is preferred but not essential
  • Thorough attention to detail, organised and able to multitask
  • A strong team player
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • General administrative skills within events & awards to support the team when required logistics, shipping, packing equipment, artwork assets, set up of events

Please note, the salary for this position is from £25,000 up to £28,000
