Are you an experienced CNC Programmer-Operator looking for a new position and wanting to work for an expanding and successful business who are experts in their field? If so, we have the perfect job for you


This role is to operate existing CNC machines as well as carry out development work on new jobs and create new programs using FANUC Control System.

Duties include

  • Develop machining programmes for parts, ensuring setup times and run times are minimised to gain maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness
  • Following the relevant component product development process for parts modelled on the CAD system
  • Setting of machines and materials with the relevant programmes, making adjustments to the setting/programmes where required
  • Maintain records of programming, setup and running times
  • Identify and select appropriate tooling for specific materials and cutting parameters
  • Operation of the machines (Vertical Milling Centre, Mill Turn and Manual machines) to manufacture components
  • Production machining
  • Maintain the quality standards of components manufactured
  • Liaise with the Design department to improve existing parts advise regarding new part design
  • Provide costing/estimates for future products and assist with the product cost improvement programme
  • Training and mentoring of new Machine Operators
  • Monitoring of the scrap and reduction programme
  • Other duties as required

Required Skills:


  • Programming experience using Fanuc control system (30 series minimum of 3 years)
  • Experience in programming and operating a 3 axis Vertical Machining Centre
  • Experience in programming and operating Mill Turn with X, Z and C axis
  • Offline programming experience in CAD CAM development
  • Experience of using Feature CAM or similar
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure along with strong project and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with attention to detail and accuracy
