Purpose of the Role:
To assist members of the US Property team in a trainee broker support capacity, and to work on allocated tasks and projects as directed by management to facilitate the business operations of the company.
Key Role Accountabilities:
- Learn about the London Insurance Market and International Insurance Markets to gain an understanding about Insurance.
- Shadow Broker Support team members and learn how to produce endorsements and in due course placing slips/MRC's etc.
- Become an effective team member and collaborate well with peers in the London office.
- Learn about the data and analytics produced within the US Property Team.
- Gain an understanding of Facility Creation and the use of it.
- Gain an understanding of the Claims process.
- Study towards the Level 3 Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship (equivalent to CII Certificate), including the Award in London Market Insurance (ALMI).
- Escalate any potential E&O's to Divisional Directors and the Legal & Compliance team at the earliest opportunity.
- Preparation of MRC and MTA (endts).
- Creation placement schematics, premium calculations excellent Excel skills
- All placing, contract and closing documentation satisfies the client requirements and complies with internal procedures.
- Contribute to retention of clients through planned and coordinated account renewal.
- Identifies and develops opportunities for account development to meet client and exceed requirements.
- Ensure agreed payment terms and payment warranties and met through credit control.
- Working with broker producers, to educate clients and manage client expectations through market, insurance, and sector briefings.
- Coordinate and manage client and placement records.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant Insurance experience required.
- 5 GCSE passes (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
- Degree educated.
Person Specification:
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Organised and reliable.
- Collaborative team working approach.
- Ability to work with a range of employees at different organisational levels.
- Accurate and attentive to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work towards and meet deadlines.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise own workload.
