The Healthcare Assistant is a key member of the multidisciplinary care team and will have continuing responsibility to deliver an effective and competent level of care under the guidance and supervision of the Registered Nurse being fully aware of the needs of individual patients over the 24-hour span of care.
You will consistently deliver a patient focused service, which promotes optimum independence and undertake identified allocated tasks under indirect supervision.
Through a comprehensive induction, you will be provided with extensive training to enable you to be able to carry out your job role and deliver quality care.
You will maintain a clean and healthy environment for patients as well as promoting a healthy, safe and secure environment by adhering to West London NHS Trusts statutory health and safety requirements.
Consistently deliver a patient focused service, which promotes optimum independence.
To note and report accurately any care given and / or information required by the Registered Practitioner
Communicate with patients, carers and a range of other people on matters associated with an unregistered health care practitioner in the role of Healthcare Assistant.
Helping patients with personal care such as support with showering and dressing
Supporting patients with eating and drinking
Monitoring individual patients' conditions by taking their temperature, pulse, respiration and weight, and possibly helping with medication.
Develop own knowledge and skills demonstrating the competence to perform proficiently in the role of Healthcare Assistant.
