TEAM & ROLE OVERVIEW

This role will drive the ESG and sustainability integration into the Growth Equity business - across the investment lifecycle and into the portfolio companies - reducing ESG risks and creating value-add initiatives.

This role is the key Sustainability pointperson to support the businesses in keeping up-to-date on ESG regulations, target setting, driving performance at the business level and at portfolio companies, data collection efforts and ESG reporting to investors and regulators, as well as implementationof the sustainability strategy for AM Private's Growth Equity businesses.

The role will collaborate closely with Growth Equity deal teams, Sustainability & Impact team, Value Accelerator, Fund & Information Management, Fund Managers, Legal, and Compliance.

AM Private Growth Equity boasts a global and diverse team of 75+ investors who look to harness the firm's network of global relationships and brand to directly source high-growth investments.

The team looks to invest in companies across the growth equity spectrumprior to IPO.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Investment Process & Fund Support:


  • Collaborate with investment teams on sustainability thesis for investments, identifying opportunities to improve ESG efforts and/or business models with target companies
  • Support deal teams in completing ESG due diligence, materiality assessment, and identifying ESG uplifts and value creation opportunities. Activate Value Accelerator with deal teams and portfolio companies to assess ESG maturity with portfolio companiesleading to 100day plans; Support ESG consultants for portfolio companies on preliminary due diligence
  • Deliver on ESG Due Diligence Questionnaires, and ESG reporting needs such as TCFD, SFDR and UNPRI. Collaborate with ACMS, Fund Management and AM Private Sustainability & Impact to deliver on Fund reports and overall divisional reports and ESG performancedashboards
  • Lead development of Net Zero assessments and the roadmap required to track, integrate and report for investments
  • Develop and manage ESG governance efforts for the Funds to ensure integration of best practices, proper protocols are developed and followed through on and efforts are evidenced and tracked appropriately
  • Help design the framework and prepare future Growth Equity Funds for ESG commitments including a focus on investment strategy, target commitments, ESG governance and reporting
  • Support Growth Equity leadership on developing ESG plan/roadmap and coordinate across deal teams, portfolio companies and across division to deliver on it
  • Work with AM Private Sustainability & Impact team and Sustainable Finance Group to identify and track investments that are in scope for the firm's $750bn target for sustainable investing, advising, and financing activity

Value Accelerator & Portfolio Support:


  • Work with the Value Accelerator and external consultants (as needed) to onboard portfolio company to 'Goldman Sachs ESG platform'
  • Materiality assessments, stakeholder engagement, sustainability strategy development, targets and KPIs, baseline footprint, data collection, performance interventions and reporting
  • Climate risk assessments, carbon accounting, climate goals and reporting at portfolio level
  • Social impact and inclusive growth programs
  • Financial literacy, educational resources, DE&I programs, worker wellbeing and employee ownership, etc.
  • Support Value Accelerator and deal teams in the development and execution of the 100day ESG plans for new Growth Equity investments and work with deal teams to ensure completion of objectives laid out
  • Supporting portfolio companies on their sustainability reporting, marketing, customer engagement, product development and market opportunities.
  • Ensure portfolio companies are tracking on sustainability initiatives, climate risk assessments, and regulatory support in conjunction with ESG Regulatory team and keep track of each portfolio companies ESG priorities, programs, targets and performance

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • At least 57 years of professional experience in corporate sustainability
  • Strong understanding of sustainability approaches, frameworks, and reporting.
  • Experience with key ESG Standards including GRI, TCFD, UNPRI, SFDR, SASB etc., preferred. Familiarity with carbon accounting and climate risk assessments a bonus
  • Detailoriented and thorough
  • Ability to work with, and manage, various stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Proven ability to connect with different internal teams and be a team player in a fastpaced environment. A commitment to excellence, integrity and collaboration is a must
  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Environmental Science, Engineering, or Sustainability
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, as well as with business intelligence software and software tools generally is a bonus
