Job overview:

In late 2019, ESTH was successful in receiving c. £500m of capital as part of first wave of the Hospital Infrastructure Programme.

This enabled our commissioners to consult the public on three development options:
a new hospital at Epsom, St Helier or Sutton. This was summarised in a Pre-Consultation Business Case (PCBC).

Public consultation will end on 1 April 2020, with a final decision expected through a DMBC in Summer 2020.

After this point, we will have a mandate to develop the Outline Business Case (OBC) for the re-configuration of acute services at ESTH based on our commissioner's decision.


This role will be part of the team that leads on the development of the OBC and the IHT Programme.

The role will support the daily coordination, planning, communication and organisation for the IHT programme.


Main duties of the job:


The key areas of responsibility are as follows:

  • Provide dedicated administrative support to the IHT programme.
  • Working with colleagues from the programme team and external organisations where required.
  • Support the IHT Programme Manager and team in the day to day monitoring of the programme.
  • Arrange, attend and take minutes for a variety of meetings, determining decisions, issues and risks, ensuring actions are followed up and closed
  • Servicing the IHT Delivery Group and IHT Programme Board through collation and distribution of all papers.
  • Support the delivery of the programme effectively and efficiently, promoting effective use of data, information, knowledge and technology to improve, inform and support the programme.
  • Be responsible for providing administrative support to the IHT programme providing dedicated resource, monitoring implementation and evaluation of the work streams by providing high quality reports as required.
  • Keep key programme documentation up to date i.e. Risks and Issues log,
  • Assist with the updating of key programme products where required
  • Coordinating with various groups, identifying interdependencies across the work streams
  • Be required to communicate complex, sensitive information to a range of stakeholders.
  • The post holder will be required to work autonomously in the role, escalating issues that may arise to the appropriate person.
