Role overview:


One of the BWB Environmental Planning team's main service offering is Environmental Assessment and Co-Ordination including EIA consultancy, with a range of unique services including general project management for multi-disciplinary schemes, Socio-Economic Impact Assessment, Climate Change Assessment, Sustainability Statements and Health Impact Assessment.

The team's success has been built on helping Clients deliver sustainable, viable and implementable schemes on complex sites across multiple sectors.


This is an opportunity for Senior Consultant to join a small, dynamic team supporting a range of projects, including major urban regeneration schemes, mixed-use, residential and rail across the UK and helping to build our international offering with CAF Group whilst growing individual expertise and be Client facing with a focus on innovation alongside providing commercial solutions to complex environmental issues.


What you'll be doing

  • Project lead and project support providing valuable resource in general project management for multidiscipline schemes;
  • Data collection and analysis, assisting in gathering and assessing environmental data to support processes and identify mitigation to make a positive difference;
  • Client interaction to engage with key project stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and understanding of project requirements;
  • Research and innovation to stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to contribute innovative ideas and solutions;
  • Work collaboratively, inputting into projects across the BWB Offices; and
  • Progress towards Chartered status membership of a relevant professional body, such as IEMA, with support from the business.

What you'll bring

  • Knowledge of local, regional, and national environmental regulations and laws applicable to EIA processes.
  • Understanding of sustainability principles and the ability to integrate them into environmental impact assessments.
  • Ability to identify potential environmental issues and propose effective solutions or mitigation measures.
  • Demonstrable experience in successfully leading or contributing environmental input to complex projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information in reports and interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for assessing the potential environmental impacts of projects.
  • Well organised and able to prioritise workload independently but also contribute to team goals.
  • Ability to conduct fieldwork, site visits, and environmental assessments.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft packages (including Outlook, Word, Excel and Publisher).
  • Experience in using GIS and AutoCAD
