Newport City Council is looking for someone who can continue to deliver against our ambitious climate change programme with the vision of becoming a carbon neutral organisation by 2030.


We need someone who is motivated to make a difference, can demonstrate the ability to integrate quickly, lead others and who has the determination to see projects through to completion.


The post holder will be part of a growing multi-skilled Climate Change team that is responsible for our Organisational Climate Change Plan and our Local Area Energy Plan for the city.

Main duties of the role

Develop and deliver on specified projects which will form part of Newport's Climate and Decarbonisation Agenda.


Work with colleagues and partner organisation to develop and deliver on projects that will produce the required results with the specified tolerances of time, cost, quality, scope and risk.

About you


The role would suit and individual who is driven to save carbon and who has previously worked in a project delivery role.

Applicants should have prior experience of leading internal and external stakeholders and delivering a range or projects. Previous experience of local government would be an advantage but is not essential.

Applicants should be qualified to degree level or equivalent and have experience in energy, climate or carbon reduction fields.
