Aims of the post
To provide needs led support to young people with learning disabilities/mental health problems across the provision at ELATT.

Keyworker duties
- Being the key point of contact for social service interventions and external agencies, including virtual schools and partner organisations
- To provide practical and social support to vulnerable young people during their studies
- To support individuals to participate in enrichment and employability activities.
- To enable and support young people to develop their skills and confidence.
- To support and encourage young people to access the local community effectively through enrichment activities.
- To be aware of and work in accordance with ELATT's Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.
- To liaise with safeguarding leads on matters of child protection and safeguarding.
- To be fully conversant with and act in accordance with ELATT's policies and procedures, particularly Health and Safety Policy and Equal Opportunities Policy.
- To participate in staff activities and duties including team meetings supervision, performance reviews and jobrelated training.
- To contribute to individual support/action plans for vulnerable young people.
- To liaise with other staff, managers, collaborating agencies and young people to ensure individual needs are met and confidentiality maintained.
- To be actively involved in the delivery, assessment, and monitoring of individual's support plans, especially where communication with external agencies is required. This may include writing reports, attending meetings, submitting information requests in regards to our young people, etc.
- Maintain accurate records
- To undertake any duties consistent with the scope of the job as requested by Line Managers.
- Give help, advice, and support on practical and behavioural issues to learners so each individual can achieve the maximum possible independence in their learning.
- Provide information and assist people to use relevant social, leisure and neighbourhood facilities and services, arranging initial contact and attending with the individual if required.
- To develop knowledge of the local resources available to clients.
- To be aware of and work within risk management guidelines for each client.
- Foster the equality, diversity and rights of others by ensuring people are respected and valued as individuals.
- Support involvement and access to all enrichment and employability activities.
- Promote the rights and needs of individual young people, including allowing a sense of agency in the way the provision is developed.
- Promote and maintain constructive relationships with all staff, young people, visitors and a wide range of people from external agencies.
- Support individuals when they are distressed, liaising with the wellbeing officer when necessary.

Desirable:
NVQ/Diploma Level 2/3 in adult social care
Desirable:
Relevant experience in health, social care or key working
All new employees will be fully trained in-house and will also receive external training on safeguarding, Prevent and first aid.
