HR Operations Officer


At a glance:


The HR Operations Officer is positioned in the Human Resources department and has a reporting line to the Country HR Director.


The mission of HR UK is to provide a proactive service that aligns with ABN AMRO's UK business strategy and culture, supporting leadership and employees.


Your job:


The HR Operations Officer is responsible for a variety of operational tasks across the HR team from both a HR and Reward perspective.

This role is broad in nature, but it has a particular focus on reporting, governance and house in
order activities.

  • Responsible for analysing and presenting people MI data on a monthly, quarterly basis and ad hoc basis
  • Proactively considers and makes suggestions on reporting required to add value to the business, and enable the HR team to proactively address issues
  • Analyses onboarding and exit interview data, sharing insights with the wider team and HR Business Partners
  • Responsible for supporting Procurement with the onboarding of any third party contracts owned by HR
  • Responsible for the maintenance of (and any changes required by/for) all third party contracts owned by HR
  • Administers all invoices received by HR and supports the reconciliations process
  • Takes the lead on organising team activity such as week starts, team meetings, the HR annual plan, including action tracking.
  • Tracks progression of annual HR projects and HR team objectives
  • Provide advice and guidance on HR policy, process and colleague benefits
  • Tracks and manages the annual policy and template review process, including the Staff Handbook.
  • Supports the HR team with risk related tasks such as tracking HR risk events, completing periodic risk monitoring tasks and reporting activities including the monthly risk dashboard. (LT would still own the risk stuff but this is all
the data and reporting bits)- Responsible for the co-ordination and administration of the SMCR process.

  • Supports with the coordination of local HR projects.
  • Support the HR team with GDPR related activities including compliance with data destruction and storage requirements.

ABN AMRO UK is part of the Corporate Banking business line and operates the following businesses in the UK:

  • Corporate and Institutional Banking which includes Corporate Banking, Clearing, Global Markets
  • Sales & Trading and Financial Institutions
  • Commercial Banking which includes Asset Based Finance and International Desk, which provides transactional banking services


Our business lines are supported by a number of functions such as Risk, Compliance, Legal, IT, Finance (Including Tax), Business Management and Human Resources.

We currently employ approx. 380 people in the UK.


Your profile:


  • CIPD qualification/part qualified or equivalent preferred but not essential
  • Experience working with HR and payroll systems (ADP and Success Factors would be preferable, but not essential)
  • Intermediate/advanced Excel skills must be comfortable analysing data, drawing insights, and presenting findings in an engaging and helpful way
  • Experience starters, changes, leavers etc.
  • Worked in a banking or financial services environment (preferable, but not essential)
  • Knowledge and experience of PowerBI and using it for reporting purposes
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Accuracy in the reading and drafting of human resources relat
