Starting Point Recruitment are currently recruiting for an
Initial Referral Officer for Walsall Council on a 3-month ongoing assignment.

37hours - Full time
Hybrid working - Office 1-2 days a week.

**Job Role

  • To act as a single point of contact to Adult Social Care and to respond to a range of general/emergency enquires from the citizens and professionals of Walsall
  • To capture details and collate relevant information to complete new referrals and queries directed to Walsall Adult Social Care and provide advice and guidance, signposting and processing to other teams within adult social care when necessary.
  • To receive and process safeguarding concerns that come to Walsall Adult Social Care and screen and complete lateral checks
  • To focus on helping people to help themselves or offering signposting, advice and guidance to the citizen's of Walsall to help prevent, reduce or delay their care and support needs from worsening.

Corporate duties and accountabilities

  • The post holder will comply with and promote the Council's Health, Wellbeing and Safety at Work policies and ensure these are implemented effectively within his/her areas of responsibility.
  • Through personal commitment and clear action, the post holder will promote the Council's employment policies, with particular reference to diversity, equality of access and treatment in employment, service delivery and community involvement. To support/develop a working culture within these services that reflects the corporate vision.
  • Ensure that the services provided aligned to the Council strategy, vision, aims, objectives, priorities and continuous improvement programme and play their part in achieving these. This includes compliance with Standing Orders, Financial Regulations, Code of Conduct and the Councils Policies and Procedures.
