Role Overview:


As an integral member of the Property Directorate's leadership team, your role will extend into the wider leadership of, contributing to the work of the Board and Executive Leadership Team.

You will also work with the governance committees, Senior Leadership Team and colleagues to help shape our future direction and ensure that we have a culture that enables people to flourish in delivering the impact we are passionate about realising for customers.


As Director of Repairs and Maintenance you will play a pivotal role in leading the charge towards a reinvigorated future for A2Dominion.

This role will be redefining and elevating our Repair and Maintenance function to new standards through strategic infrastructure and professional leadership in the following areas:
repairs and maintenance, environmental services, planned and cyclical maintenance.

Ensuring we deliver high-quality repairs, maintenance and improvement services, to support the creation of sustainable and vibrant places for our residents and communities.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Leadership:_
- _ _Collaborate with the Board, Executive Leadership Team, and governance committees to redefine the strategies for property and estate management.

  • Initiate and drive a comprehensive transformation plan, focused on achieving unparalleled excellence in customer service and operational efficiency.
  • Operational Oversight:_
- _ _Lead and overhaul repairs and maintenance, environmental services, and planned & cyclical maintenance activities.

  • Implement innovative maintenance strategies to ensure safety, compliance, and exceptional value for investment.
  • Financial Management:_
- _ _Revise budgets, closely monitor expenditure, and instigate cost-saving measures aligned with our new strategic direction.

  • Pave the way for a sustainable property portfolio that maximises returns from charitable assets.
  • Team Development:_
- _ _Lead and mentor a team of professionals, inspiring them to embrace change and reach new levels of performance.

  • Provide the guidance, feedback, and training needed for each team member to thrive in this era of revitalisation.
  • Customer Approach:_
- _ _Transform the customer experience, ensuring it exceeds expectations at every turn.

  • Develop and implement metrics and datadriven insights to drive relentless service improvement.

Qualifications and Skills:

Degree-level education or equivalent, with relevant professional qualifications.

  • Track record of leading multidisciplinary teams within a large, complex housing association.
  • Indepth knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks related to property maintenance.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budget formulation and cost control.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing organisationwide strategies, policies, and frameworks.
