Overview:
- We are currently recruiting for an experienced Laboratory Manager to work for our client across their facility in the West Midlands, the role will be working for a growing business that specialises in pharmaceutical materials testing services. This is anexciting and dynamics role working across their contract testing facility supporting API characterisation and tablet development projects for a wide range of global pharmaceutical clients.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Managing a small team of laboratory staff on site, including organising team time and resources.
- Ensure that the division performs scientific compaction tests as and when the business requires, to a high standard and be able to report and relay the information confidently to clients.
- This role will involve the generation of quotations, liaising with customers to understand their requirements and discussing opportunities with existing and potential new clients.
- Costing and invoicing of completed projects to ensure that margins and monthly business targets are achieved.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness. To expand the current customer base and revenue stream to fulfil the current business plan for the division.
- Attend and support General Manager with preparing the monthly Exec meeting data.
- Work closely with external providers with the commissioning of new equipment as required.
- Prepare and present withGeneral Manager the yearly budget forecasts and business plan to the Board.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop content on digital marketing platforms to maximise customer potential and business development opportunities.
- Reporting on results to customers from testing of products and the data inputting of information onto the systems.
- Supporting clients with clear communication on the scoping of projects and meeting with them as required.

- Providing support to clients, internal staff, and the wider group.
- Responsibility for own and others health and wellbeing.
- Ensuring that all team members have required skills for their individual roles. Training to be updated on skills matrix and provided as required.
- Knowledge of H&S requirements in the workplace in line with HSE.
- Work with H&S advisor to updatethe H&S manual in line with changes in legislation, statutory and business requirements.
Essential Skills:
- Interpreting customer testing requirements
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical tablet development process
- Experience of working to International quality standards (GMP/GLP)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Word and Excel
- Good level of numeracy and literacy.
- Strong commercial awareness
- Good customer service skills

- Highly selfmotivated with good communication skills.
- Able to work effectively within a team environment.
- Able to organise daily tasks, to frequently work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
- Possess excellent attention to detail, performing work to an exceptionally high standard.
- Able to use initiative to solve problems and troubleshoot with the assistance of other members of the team.
- Should be computer literate with previous experience using Microsoft Office.
