Description
Be responsible for organising specific specialities patient waiting lists. Ensuring patients are booked for their operations in compliance with local and national targets/policies. Comply with The Department of Healths Referral to Treatment rules.

Ensure the correct and timely input of patient information onto the Patient Administration System (PAS), the Operating Room Scheduling Office System (ORSOS) and the Theatre Tracker system.

Observing the rules of real time data entry.

To implement booked admission protocols and procedures for all specialities; this will involve mutually agreeing a booked date for patients attending the unit.

To initiate action regarding patient appointment cancellations. To oversee daily operating lists, ensuring they are utilised effectively and accordingly to meet the Service and Consultant requirements.

Allocate and confirm patient pre-operation assessment Nurse and Anaesthetist appointments. Allocate and confirm patient operation dates. Ensure all relevant appointment documentation is sent to patients in a timely manner. Communicate closely with the Unit staff to ensure patients bed space is booked following their procedure.


Ensure that the relevant documentation required by the unit about the patients is kept in an efficient and accessible manner.
