Are you a skilled and motivated individual looking for an exciting opportunity in plant maintenance and repair? GCU is seeking a talented Plant Fitter to join our team in Aberdeen.

As a Plant Fitter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, inspecting, repairing, and testing our company's HGVs, vehicles, plant, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, inspect, repair, and test GCU's plant and equipment, demonstrating proficiency in fault diagnosis.
  • Conduct periodic safety inspections on all HGV vehicles, adhering to DVSA inspection manual standards.
  • Perform fault diagnosis on complex hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Prepare and present vehicles for 6weekly inspections and annual MOT inspections.
  • Respond promptly to broken down or accident damaged vehicles, providing necessary repairs.
  • Ensure strict compliance with relevant legislation and Health and Safety procedures.

Skills and Experience Preferred:

  • Training in HGV Repair and Maintenance is essential.
  • Possession of an HGV license is advantageous, but not mandatory.
  • Experience in small plant repair would be highly beneficial.
  • Previous work experience as a Fitter or Technician in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of workshop health and safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision, effectively managing time and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • IT literacy.

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Experience:


  • HGV Maintenance: 4 years (preferred)
Plant Maintenance: 3 years (preferred)


Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)
  • HGV Licence (preferred)

  • United Kingdom (required)
