About Us:

M&J Group is a distinguished specialist construction company with a proud 50-year history.

Our operations are divided into three main divisions:
Flat Roofing, Pitched Roofing, and Construction. We are currently looking for an Administrator to join our Contracts department at our head office in Bedford.


Office Hours: 8 am - 5 pm (1-hour lunch). Occasionally may require longer hours or weekend work during peak periods or special projects.


Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support: Conduct daily administration tasks, acting as the initial point of contact for incoming calls and directing them to the appropriate team member. Strong telephone communication skills and a confident phone manner are essential.

Project Assistance: Assist Project Managers with daily administration, including booking accommodation for roofing operatives.

Logistics Coordination: Organise material deliveries to the site and collections.

Health & Safety Compliance: Communicate with the Health & Safety team to ensure up-to-date Risk Assessments & Method Statements for each project are recorded.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with roofing operatives working on-site to support the smooth progress of general construction and roofing projects.


Required Experience & Skills:

Communication: Confident telephone communication skills.

Experience: Previous administrative experience is essential.

Location: Ability to commute to Bedford daily.

Skills: Proactive with strong organisational and multitasking skills. Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.


Reporting Structure:


  • The role will report to the Senior Project Manager.
