Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is commencing a complex programme of investigation work into cases of hospital-acquired (nosocomial) Covid-19.

The programme will run for 2 years and will combine genetic, epidemiological and infection-control investigations with traditional patient safety techniques, offering you an opportunity to participate in a unique project with a national profile.


All cases where hospital-acquired Covid-19 led to harm will be investigated under the 'Putting Things Right' regulations to ensure that bereaved families and affected patients receive compassionate and open responses.

The work will help to inform local and national management of Covid-19 and other healthcare-acquired infections in the future.
