An exciting opportunity exists to join the People Team as an Apprentice Human Resources Assistant.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in Human Resources in a supportive environment, working alongside experienced HR Professionals who are eager to support and develop new and emerging talent.


Reporting to the Head of Workforce Programmes,is responsible for providing a customer focused HR Administrative support to the wider People Team in the planning and implementation of the People Strategy for the ICB.

The post holder will be supported in attaining a sound knowledge and understanding of the HR Function through work based experiential learning whilst undertaking a programme of development leading to CIPD Level 3 Diploma in Foundation Diploma in Human Resources Practice.


The People Team at Cheshire and Merseyside is a newly formed group of passionate HR Professionals with a broad portfolio of activities and responsibilities including but not limited to system wide and internal facing strategic and organisational development, workforce planning, equality diversity and inclusion and workforce programmes.

The atmosphere within the team is friendly and non hierarchal, providing opportunities for shared learning and collaboration.

Core duties and responsibilities


Provide a professional administrative support to all members of the People Team, supporting the delivery of the ICB and People Team objectives.


  • Regularly use software to prepare relevant reports and information relating to key areas of work.
  • Collate, provide and receive, routine information relating to ICB services and projects.
  • Engage with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Organise meetings, update action logs and take meeting notes as required by the People Team
  • Organises and updates People Team files and folders
  • Adhere to ICB People policies and procedures and ensure escalation of noncompliances.
  • Maintain credibility within ICB/ICS, fostering a culture of collaboration.
