We are looking for a new
Kitchen Assistant who would like to join a supportive working environment and, make a different in our resident's lives.

And assist in the provision of the catering service within
Swan House.


You do not need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications - we're happy to work with you to help you become an excellent Kitchen Assistant.

**About our service: Swan House is a residential care home in Winslow, Buckinghamshire and is home to 32 people. We provide a range of care and support service for our residents.

Swan House provides a friendly, compassionate, and welcoming home from home environment with regular and varied activities. As well as Outings and events that are also organised.

**Our Kitchen Assistant duties will consist of: - To assist in the organisation of the storeroom

  • Storing, sorting, and distributing ingredients
  • To be able to use computers on a regular basis
  • To respect the confidential nature of personal information
  • To assist in the preparation and serving of all meals to ensure that the catering service is responsive to the needs of those receiving meals
  • To ensure that all machinery, equipment, and appliances are properly stored and used so that their working life is maximised, and the likelihood of breakdown and accidents is minimised
  • To clean the kitchen areas this includes cookers and floors and maintaining that food hygiene practice is followed
  • To understand and actively always participate in the Health & Safety as well as the equality and diversity policies and procedures
  • To access Ambient resources, for example online payslips, staff website and undergo elearning
  • To be able to work flexibly over a 24/7 basis according to the demands of the service
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
**Our kitchen Assistant skills and experience: - Basic literacy and numeracy

  • Good spoken communication skills in order to relate well to service users and staff
  • The ability to pick up detailed instructions quickly and follow them closely
  • Being able to demonstrate an understanding of the nature of the post applied
  • Understanding of the importance of health and hygiene
  • Capability of working a position that requires manual handling tasks as a core requirement
