Your new role:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent
Senior Planner to join our
Area 12 account in Goole.

This role will be based on-site 3 days a week at
Motorway Maintenance Compound, Finnleys Lane, West Cowick, Goole, DN14 9ED.

Travel to other depots will be required and a
company car is provided.


Working with National Highways, Amey provides Maintenance and Response for the network covering Yorkshire and Humberside, providing all routine and cyclic maintenance on the trunk roads and motorways.


The network spans 1,650km of motorway, 476km of trunk road (dual), 179km of trunk road (single carriageway) and 1,963 structures.

Our teams are responsible for incident management, defect rectification and responding to severe weather. They also oversee traffic management during incidents and the operation of the ten maintenance depots in the region.


The standard hours of work are 37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm)

You will be responsible for:


  • Developing and managing the reactive maintenance programme for Area 12 to include profiled resourcing requirements
  • Coordinating with Pre-Works Coordinators to track progress, incorporating changes and forecasting delivery dates and expenditure
  • Coordinating with Cyclic planners within the team to incorporate reactive maintenance programme for Area 12 with the cyclic programme to optimise outputs, minimum rolling three months
  • Engaging with the Client and other key stakeholders through regular communications including weekly / monthly planning meetings and other forums.
  • Preparing periodic reports, statistics, and answers to enquiries concerning the programmes to include the population of monthly KPI scoring
  • Ensuring high standards of programming and road space bookings are carried out to meet client and contract requirements
  • Developing and improving working practices and seek innovative solutions
  • Supporting Senior Planner for Cyclic and in partnership, deputise for the Customer & Community Representative as required.
  • Supporting Scheme Delivery team if required with reactive works

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Advanced use of the Microsoft Office suite (in particular excel) and preferably Microsoft Project and Primavera P6, plus other tools/systems as defined by the project or client
  • A driving license
  • Experience of highways maintenance operations
  • Good all round project management knowledge
  • Highly organised with an excellent attention to detail and meticulous approach
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and be able to manage stakeholders at all levels
  • Environmental Awareness
