Job Purpose.

  • Contributing as a project team member to the wider People Services priorities and projects, the role will oversee the day to day running of relevant project streams, taking responsibility for coordinating project outputs and undertaking key actions within the project.
  • Policy review from initial research to implementation
  • Drafting communications, guidance, and FAQs across a range of stakeholders
  • Day to day reward advice and support including role pricing and benchmarking.

Role requires you to:

  • Support the planning and delivery of People Services projects and change programmers, leading specific workstreams or key tasks as determined by the Team
  • Monitor each project against the agreed delivery plans, ensuring that all required progress reports are produced in a timely manner and are appropriate for the required audience and produce required documents to support the project such as business cases, project plans, communication plan, risk logs, decision logs, using departmental project management templates
  • Undertake project tasks as required within each of the projects including but not limited to managing large, complex information sets, preparing guidance and FAQs to support project launch and managing the project inbox to ensure queries are dealt with or escalated in a timely manner
  • Develop and support project and policy communication activities ensuring that all those involved in the project have access to uptodate information
  • Undertake external research, collecting, evaluating, and interpreting and providing summary reports and advice

Policy Development:

  • Research and draft updates to People Services Policies, manager/colleague guidance and employee handbooks to ensure they reflect Our xxxx Way values, meet legislative requirements, and consider best practice approaches
  • Work in partnership with trade unions and staff groups for consultation as required

Reward and Benefits Advice and Support:

  • Responsible for ad hoc job pricing and benchmarking roles (training can be provided)
  • To assist with the daytoday management of other Reward activities within People Services, for example supporting our cyclical activities such as pay review, Real Living Wage review and implementation, 3rd party benefit renewals
  • Research and consider our wider approach to benefits, researching best practice and putting together proposal
  • Work with the wider People Services team to put robust systems in place to manage specific initiatives, such as grey fleet license checking, setting up salary sacrifice schemes

  • Ensuring our internal intranet is regularly reviewed and updated with latest changes in policy, rewards, and benefits
  • Supporting the delivery of the team's cyclical events calendar
  • Assisting the team with drafting communications for the weekly colleague newsletter
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Essential

  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent People Services experience
  • Previous experience in development of policy within a People Services environment
  • Experience of participating in programmers of work which require understanding of relevant employment law and best practice
  • Previous experience in coordinatin
