We are looking for placement students to work from our Crawley office in the UK as technical consultants for their placement year months)

Successful placement students will also get the opportunity to return once they have completed their studies, into the second year of the graduate rotation program.

The Placement Year Program


As a placement student at Infor MES, you start part of a two-year rotation program designed to provide you with a range of experiences (including both technical and soft skills), by working with different customer project teams implementing customer solutions and working on the core product as part of the development team.

We provide a 10-week training program at the start of your placement year. This training introduces you to the product by getting you to build your own MES system.

Then you will move onto the technical training where you will get the basics of developing within the MES ecosystem.

After training you'll join one of our small teams, where you will have a mentor and begin your journey building MES solutions for our customers

  • Technical Skills: C#,.Net, SQL, HTML 5, CSS, React
  • Soft Skills: Requirements interpretation, technical writing, customer communication

MES:
how it is architected, structured, installed, configured to build solutions

  • Systems skills: Understanding databases, Software Development Environments, Virtual Machines
  • Business processes: Agile software development, release processes, installation processes, deployment processes, support processes, project processes, change management processes.

What will you be doing?

  • Working across many disciplines, writing reliable, maintainable code that tailors our product to customer needs, delivering solutions
  • Attending daily standups, gaining experience in product development, solution delivery and customer support
  • Once the product is deployed, extending the code base or fixing bugs
  • Using a variety of external systems through writing an interface in C# one day or building a web service the next
  • Using a variety of technologies and platforms including database, serverside scripting, and frontend development
  • Conducting occasional visits to the customers to see firsthand how the software is going to be used and to help them understand requirements

Your Profile

Skills and qualifications:


  • Currently studying computer science/engineering/math/physics Degree's
  • Live locally to our office in Crawley (Or willing to relocate for your placement year)
  • Strong interest in developing programming skills: C#,.NET, SQL, HTML 5, CSS, React
  • Driven and result oriented personality with excellent communication skills
  • Doer, with strong analytical skills and leadership experience/qualities
  • A keen interest to work directly with our customers; both virtually and on site
  • Must be proficient in English

Start date
Graduate Program starts on 3rd July 2023.
