We are recruiting for the following post:
Head of Client Services (female*) (maternity cover)


£37,568 to £39,570

Full-time 37.5 hours per week/ 3 days minimum - until end of December 2023 (with possibility of extension)


There will be an expectation that the roles will generally involve working from office (safe working practices adhered to) with some home working and occasional travel to East Sussex.


What you will do:


This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience and make real impact in a leadership role for an established, award-winning, innovative voluntary sector organisation.

As Head of Client Services, you will provide management and leadership to Oasis' service delivery managers with a portfolio of trauma-informed services supporting adults and children/young people across Brighton & Hove and East Sussex affected by substance use.

You will play a key role in ensuring good governance and quality for the organisation by overseeing effective, integrated systems of quality assurance, risk management and safeguarding; you will act as Safeguarding Lead for Oasis.

As part of the Senior Management Team, you will contribute to ensuring long term sustainability for the organisation via effective management of Oasis' contracts.

You will also contribute to the strategic direction of Oasis through development and leadership of new projects and services. The role will deputise for the CEO as required.

This is a maternity cover role for 9 months initially with the possibility of extension or further job opportunities beyond this.


You will:

- have a proven track record of working within the substance misuse sector and have knowledge of the issues facing substance misusers, particularly female substance misusers
- have excellent knowledge of the guidance that governs practice for an organisation such as OASIS, for example, PHE, NICE guidelines, CQC regulations and Home Office guidance.
- have experience of managing and supervising staff and providing effective performance management and a passion for coaching/developing employees

  • A working knowledge of devising and conducting audits to inform evaluation of the service and identify areas for development.
- be experienced in change management
- have an understanding of working in a way that is 'trauma informed'
- be committed to prioritising safeguarding and the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion
- have a capacity to be resilient under pressure and adaptable in a challenging and changing environment
