Working hours:
Full time, 40 hours

Salary:
Up to £23,495

HMP Dovegate is a category B male establishment prison based on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border near Uttoxeter.

The operational capacity is for 1100 prisoners and it takes a whole team of people to keep the facility safe, secure and in proper working order.

We have an opening for a Shop Assistant to join our team.

The key purpose of this role is to provide and carry out retail services within HMP Dovegate, in accordance with all relevant and current regulations, legislation and guidelines.

You will assist the Stores and Shop Manager in the delivery of retail services to the whole establishment and complies with all relevant Health & Safety and Food Safety Regulations, legislation and guidelines.

You will be responsible to ensure the security and food safety of all foodstuffs and stock items is maintained during delivery, storage and distribution within the shop and prison areas.

Some of other key accountabilities will include:
To undertake stock checks, provision planning and ordering for all products from various suppliers

React to complaint issues and trends, with a cohesive approach along with the whole retail team

To train for and carry out any other work reasonably acceptable within the capabilities of the post holder.
