Job description:

This post is a varied and exciting opportunity to join the Kielder West Beat team.

As a direct support to the Beat Forest Manager, you will assist with the planning, management, supervision and delivery of the land management and recreational work delivered by Forestry England staff and contractors.

The Kielder West Beat team manage the tree supply for the North England Forest District from a specialised coldstore located just outside of Falstone village, with around 3 million trees passing through each year.

This role will take a day-to-day lead in receiving trees from supplying nurseries, storing them, and handling the million of these trees that require pre plant treatment on site by contractors before being dispatched to site by the team.

As well as overseeing these operations, this role will also manage the stocktake and dispatch of non-plant stock such as fencing material and woodwork for Kielder Main Block and satellite Beats within the District.

Accurate recording of deliveries and dispatches using Microsoft office-based systems will be a key part of this operation.
