The job itself:


East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Active Communities Team are looking for creative and friendly people to work with children, young people and adults on a casual basis, delivering a range of diverse sport and play activities across the East Riding.


The rate of pay is £11.18 an hour plus rolled up holiday pay, with opportunities available from 3 to 15 hours a week.

The work is varied including, daytime, evening work and occasional weekend work. Hours will be agreed in advance.


Assistant casual workers will be required to support the lead coach in the delivery of activities, adapting sessions to meet the needs of all the participants.

Activities could include football, dodgeball, large-scale events, outdoor adventure, multi-sports, family games and the ability to facilitate some free play when needed.

Assistant casual workers may be required to support / complete relevant registration, health and safety and monitoring needs whilst delivering sessions.


Staff appointed will become part of the Active Communities Team casual bank of workers, delivering on a range of sessions to targeted groups, particularly evening 'Twilight' sport sessions designed to tackle anti-social behaviour and engage young people.

Other delivery may include working within Primary Schools and out in the community to improve health and wellbeing for all ages, including vulnerable young people and adults.
