A leading digitally focused Lloyd's Syndicate are currently recruiting for an Actuarial Portfolio Analyst to join the London Underwriting team.

Summary

To assist the Portfolio Manager and Senior Portfolio Analysts to proactively drive improved underwriting performance via the use of analytics so that decisions can be made on the portfolios and enhance the balance, quality and mix of the business.

Required experience and skills
Experience deriving insight by analysis of datasets, ideally within insurance (Actuarial/Data)
Some insurance knowledge, ideally within Data or Underwriting or Actuarial
Ideally comfortable writing SQL and/or Python for ad hoc analytics, minimum strong Excel skills
Clear and concise communication of analytical results to the Portfolio Manager and the wider business
This role sits within the Portfolio Management function so will particularly suit individuals who have an interest in risk selection, underwriting or algorithmic trading
