Overview:


The Data Protection and Information Assets (DPIA) team works with a diverse range of business areas across core Scottish Government to provide guidance and advice on data protection issues.


It also provides guidance to Information Asset Owners (Deputy Directors) to help them and their staff safeguard information in their care.


Responsibilities:


  • Monitoring of team mailbox, adding to/processing on the service management tool and allocation of incoming correspondence and filing.
  • Assisting in the organisation and management of high volume mailings to internal and external contacts.
  • Assisting business areas in maintaining accurate entries on the Information Asset Register and undertake quality assurance checks.
  • Run data protection eLearning reports and respond to eLearning reminders.
  • Providing secretariat support for quarterly practitioner networks and regular training sessions hosted by the team, including preparing documents and handouts, minute taking, booking facilities, and sending invitations and managing responses.
  • Acting as Information Management Support Officer (IMSO) for the team.
  • As and when there may also be an opportunity to work with other teams in iTECS.

  • Time management and ability to organise and prioritise workload.
  • Strong communication skills when contacting people across SG and members of the public.
  • Good IT skills with a knowledge of MS packages, and SG systems such as eRDM.
