You will be able to work confidently, independently and without immediate supervision to ensure that all duties are carried out to a high standard.


In addition to meeting and greeting visitors and patients, you will operate the switchboard, carry out general admin duties and book patients into our Minor Injuries Unit.


This is a band 2 post is for 10 hours per week working 18.00 to 20.00 Monday to Friday, with the option of doing additional hours to cover sickness and annual leave.

You will be required to work Bank Holidays (including Christmas) if they are on your working day. Bank Holiday hours will be paid at enhanced rates.


You will be working with a small, friendly team, primarily with the Minor Injuries team, but also with other areas.

The work is varied and interesting, dealing with both members of the public and clinicians.

The role comes with the NHS pension scheme, and generous annual leave entitlement

To book patients into the Minor Injuries Unit using a computerised patient admin system.

To operate the switchboard and direct calls to relevant departments. To deal with enquiries efficiently, taking accurate messages and disseminating them to the relevant department.

To greet patients/clinicians/visitors/relatives and direct them to the appropriate department, ensuring they sign in if appropriate.

Provide other admin support to the Minor Injuries Unit team
