Bayer Apprenticeship Scheme
Our apprenticeship program provides early career opportunities to join one of the world's leading Life Science companies.

We provide a solid foundation for a rewarding and lasting career.

Our program is 18 months and offers you the chance to gain hands on experience, develop excellent interpersonal skills and give you the opportunity to gain real breadth and experience.

You will take on responsibility and contribute from day one and will be given the training and support you need to succeed.

Mentor

You will be assigned a mentor from your function to provide guidance and support as you progress on your apprenticeship.

In addition to helping learn your new role they will be on hand to support you with your coursework.

Onboarding

You will get to know Bayer through your onboarding experience where you will be given all the information you need to make your first weeks at Bayer a success.

Functional/Soft Skill Development
As part of your apprenticeship, you will be given training to support you specifically in your role. You will also receive over the course of your program your specific personal development training.

Qualifications
Multi-Channel Marketer Level - via Basingstoke ITEC/WBTC.

Channels, Amplifications, Communications & Public Affairs

We have a great story at Bayer and we want someone who can help us tell it across all media.

Our Communications & Public Affairs function protects Bayer's brand and reputation, and includes Business Partners, providing communication strategy, planning and support to Bayer's divisions, functions and business units; Public Affairs & Sustainability, nurturing dialogue with key stakeholder groups around key societal topics; and Baylab UK, Bayer's hands-on science education facility, building STEM engagement for students in the UK.

Our team works across all parts of Bayer in the UK, Ireland and across the world.

The team's purpose is to lead Bayer's integrated channel and content strategy and to engage with communities across web and social.

What are we looking for?

Preferably but not exclusively educated to A level standard or equivalent. 5 GCSE's or equivalent grade 4 and above, (or A
C grades) including Maths and English is essential
Enthusiastic, adaptable apprentices who are good communicators, both written and oral
An interest in creativity in a practical way or through developing ideas in areas such as writing, film, design, photography, or social media (but previous media experience is not needed)
Someone who is curious, not afraid to offer an opinion and the ability to prioritise and use your initiative
The ability to work both individually and as part of a wider team
The ability to always work with discretion and confidentiality
Good attention to detail, accuracy, and a high standard of literacy
Outstanding apprentices are those who respond well to feedback, build good relationships with colleagues, and ultimately make a lasting impression

Major tasks and responsibilities

Supporting the team with production support, particularly in film and photographic shoots
Supporting the team in the use of social media in a strategic and effective way:
Management of communication duties such as communication inboxes and press office enquiries
Develop a depth of understanding about how businesses communicate with a variety of audiences, specifically in the Life Sciences industry
Contributing to the smooth running of the team by providing support with administrative duties
Writing for business communication: writing, editing and proofreading for digital commu
