Role Purpose
HMICFRS inspect, monitor and report on the efficiency and effectiveness of police forces and policing activity with the aim of encouraging improvement.
The role is to provide administrative support to the HMICFRS portfolio for WMP in preparation for these inspections, and post inspection activity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage timetable for inspections ensuring all relevant parties are informed and updated in line with the inspection requirements
- To maintain appropriate systems and procedures in accordance with force policy and the Data Protection Act
- To actively participate in meetings where appropriate
- To assist in the audit and inspection processes and business planning
- To provide appropriate information, advice and guidance to colleagues and external contacts
- To action internal / external correspondence as required
- To prepare appropriate responses to correspondence To carry out research for inspections and prepare necessary reports
Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
- Excellent organisation skills and ability to multitask effectively
- Good report writing skills
- Ability to work independently, selfinitiate and prioritise tasks, delivering against timescales
- Be able to demonstrate effective presentation skills
- Able to participate effectively in meetings, making valuable contributions Able to provide accurate information and data, advising line managers accordingly
Desirable:
- Knowledge of relevant legislation or guidelines, processes and procedures
- Have previous experience of working with HMICFRS Sound working knowledge of IT and software packages
Skills

Vetting
Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment Vetting and Counter Terrorism Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.
Medical
Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully medical checks, which may include a drugs test and if required a fitness test.
